Governor calls for collective efforts to make Karimnagar TB and drug free district

Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has called upon people to strive together to make Karimnagar tuberculosis (TB) and drug free district.

He was addressing a gathering of prominent persons from various walks of life at the Collectorate in Karimnagar on Friday afternoon.

The Governor urged all stakeholders to become active partners in the anti-drug campaign and TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in a mission mode.

“It is the collective responsibility of everyone to eradicate social evils such as child marriages and child labour,” he said, calling upon all sections of society to contribute their mite for Viksit Bharat.

Collector Pamela Satpathy gave a presentation on the implementation of various State and Central government schemes across multiple sectors, including education, health, rural development, women development and child welfare in the district on the occasion.

According to official sources, the Governor felicitated several distinguished personalities, including writers, doctors, academics and artists at the Collectorate auditorium later in the day before leaving for Hyderabad.
