Police intensified probe into the death of former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Assistant Vigilance and Security Officer (AVSO) Y. Satish Kumar, who was found dead on railway tracks between Komali and Juturu railway stations near Tadipatri, on Friday.

CID chief Ravishankar Ayyanar rushed to Anantapur and took stock of the progress of investigation in the case with Railway and local police, forensic experts and doctors who performed the post-mortem on Satish Kumar’s body.

Mr. Ravishankar visited the spot where Satish Kumar’s body was found and enquired with the Railway police about the distance from Guntakal railway station to Komali village, where the body was found, the time at which the deceased boarded the time, and other details.

The CID chief also enquired the nature of injuries on Satish Kumar’s body and later held discussions with the doctors who performed autopsy on the body for nearly two hours. Meanwhile, as part of reconstruction of crime scene, the police used a mannequin and threw it from the door of Chennai Egmore train at the same spot. The same was recorded through drones, sources said.

Satish Kumar, during his tenure as the AVSO caught C.V. Ravikumar, a volunteer, stealing money while counting hundi collections, but reached a settlement with the accused in the Lok Adalat, leading to disposal of the case.
