A printing press unit at K.S.N. Menon Road at Ravipuram in Kochi was gutted in a fire on Thursday (July 2, 2026). No one was injured in the incident.

The fire, which broke out around 9 a.m., was extinguished by Fire and Rescue Services personnel from the Club Road, Gandhinagar, Vypin, and Thripunithura fire stations. Five fire tenders were deployed in the firefighting operation.

The blaze was initially detected by the unit’s representatives as they were about to open the facility. Thick smoke kept billowing out of the unit as Fire and Rescue Services personnel began their operation. The fire caused damage to equipment installed at the unit.
