The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has stepped up preparations for the illumination and power arrangements for Mysuru Dasara-2026, with a focus on ensuring public safety.

CESC managing director M.S. Archana said precautionary measures had been taken to prevent power disruptions during the Dasara festivities, which are expected to draw lakhs of tourists and visitors to the city.

In a press release, she said electrical connections and technical arrangements for illumination at major Dasara venues, roads, junctions and important buildings were being inspected.

Officials and staff had been instructed to ensure the quality and safety of electrical cables, control panels, distribution boxes and other equipment used for illumination. Any loose connections, exposed wires or hazardous electrical installations would be rectified immediately, she said.

With power demand expected to rise during Dasara, CESC was keeping a close watch on major substations, feeders and power lines. Additional personnel, vehicles, and equipment had been kept ready to respond to emergencies, she said.

Ms. Archana said those involved in illumination works had been instructed to ensure that the work did not inconvenience traffic or pose a risk to the public. Precautions would also be taken in case of rain or adverse weather conditions.

“The public should cooperate with CESC to ensure that the Dasara illumination is carried out safely and successfully. People should avoid touching illumination poles, installations, and electrical equipment. Any electrical accident or hazardous situation should immediately be brought to the notice of the concerned CESC officials,” she said.
