With an aim to put a check on the menace of consumption of liquor in open places, Prakasam District Police officials directing a drunken man to clean the garbage in Ongole on Saturday.

Prakasam District SP V. Harshavardhan Raju on Saturday launched a community service initiative to put a check on those who are causing trouble to the people by consuming alcohol in public places. In order to help make the city clean and green, he is making the alcohol and drug addicts to remove the garbage on streets.
The officials hope that the initiative will not only bring positive change in the behaviour of the alcoholics but also in the environments in which they consume alcohol. The police personnel are counselling the addicts to put an end to their bad habits. They also are making the persons under influence of alcohol to clean the surroundings till they come out of the influence of alcohol.
The SP said that they have already identified public places across the district and are keeping an eye on those who engage in anti-social activities with drone cameras. He said that legal action would be taken against those who have caused trouble to people and harassed women by consuming alcohol in public places.
