Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has sought an explantion from BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on the allegations levelled by the late Maganti Gopinath’s mother saying how she was not allowed to meet her son at the hospital.

“BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son KTR are trying to exploit public sympathy over the death of Mr. Gopinath, leading to the Jubilee Hills byelection. But, KTR must explain how Mr. Gopinath’s mother was treated by him and why she was not allowed to see her son at the ICU despite requests,” he said.

The Minister made these remarks while touring several areas, including Borabanda division, where he interacted with local residents on Friday, as part of the Congress campaign in Jubilee Hills.

He alleged that after looting crores of rupees belonging to the people of Telangana, the KCR family was now trying to cash in on Mr. Gopinath’s wife and BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha’s sentiments to gain sympathy votes.

The Minister also alleged that KTR had sidelined his own sister K. Kavitha, and was now using the funds earned through commissions in the Kaleshwaram project to spend in the Jubilee Hills bypolls.

He added, “When N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana software engineers, who protested peacefully, were told to stage a protest in Andhra and the same KTR is now begging for votes from Telugu Desam sympathisers.”
