The two officers reportedly demanded a bribe of ₹7 lakh intitally, later reducing it to ₹3.5 lakh to withhold filing a case against him.

After alreading accepted ₹50,000 bribe, the CI and SI demanded the remaining amount, threatening to implicate him in the snatching case if he failed to pay.

The SI was caught red handed on Monday at Simhadripuram police station while allegedly accepting ₹1.5 lakh bribe, at the instigation of the CI.

The accused officers would be produced in ACB Special Court in Kurnool, the ACB officials said in a press release.
