Supporters of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss on Thursday (December 4, 2025) staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, condemning the Election Commission of India (ECI) for its decision to recognise his estranged son Anbumani Ramadoss as the party president.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, PMK leader G.K. Mani claimed the Delhi High Court, while hearing a case filed by the supporters of Dr. Ramadoss, had rejected the Election Commission’s decision recognising Dr. Anbumani as the party president.

“The Delhi High Court has held that the documents submitted by Dr. Anbumani to the Election Commission, claiming himself to be the president of the party, are invalid. So he cannot call himself the party’s president. It is a victory for Ayya [Dr. Ramadoss], who has been running the party for the past 46 years,” said Mr. Mani, adding the Election Commission should not act unilaterally.
