Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (April 8, 2026) appealed to MPs across party lines to support a Bill to amend the Women’s Reservation Act, 2023. The Bill will be tabled when the Budget Session reconvenes on April 16.

The Act seeks to provide 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.
