Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Malaysia from February 7 to 8, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Wednesday (February 4, 2026). Mr. Modi would hold discussions with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim and representatives of the Indian community in Kuala Lumpur.
The upcoming visit would be the third visit of Mr. Modi to Malaysia and the first since bilateral relation was elevated to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” in August 2024.
“India and Malaysia share long-standing bonds of friendship, based on historical, civilisational and cultural connections,” said the MEA. The Indian community in Malaysia was known for its rich history and had been part of India’s freedom movement.
The upcoming visit would cover discussions on trade and investment, defence, security and maritime cooperation, digital and financial technology, energy, healthcare, education, tourism, said the MEA. The 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum was also scheduled to be held coinciding with the visit of Mr. Modi.
