Known for his on-ground presence during crises and community-driven initiatives, Sarabjeet Singh Sandhu’s work over the years has given him recognition beyond his immediate constituency.
Sarabjeet Singh Sandhu first came into wider public notice during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he was actively involved in large-scale relief efforts across several parts of the city. In Sahar, he organised a dedicated programme for persons with disabilities, during which wheelchairs were distributed free of cost to beneficiaries. The event was attended by local residents and caregivers, and was noted for addressing practical challenges faced by people with limited mobility.
Education support has been another area of focus. In Marol, Sarabjeet Singh Sandhu coordinated the distribution of study kits to children from economically weaker sections, particularly at a time when families were struggling to meet basic educational expenses. Parents and community members said such initiatives helped ensure that children were able to continue their schooling with essential supplies.More recently, Sarabjeet Singh Sandhu and his team organised a community programme that highlighted the contribution of workers from the gig economy. During the event, a Swiggy delivery partner won a scooty as a prize, a gesture that attendees described as an acknowledgement of the efforts of delivery workers who remained active even during difficult periods for the city.
With his decision to contest elections, Sarabjeet Singh Sandhu is now seeking to translate his community engagement into formal civic participation. He is contesting as an independent candidate from Ward 86, Marol, and has been allotted the bat as his election symbol.
