Beneficiaries of Indiramma houses in rural Telangana awaiting the last installment of the ₹5 lakh subsidy may get some relief as Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced on Wednesday that the final Bill for houses constructed till March 31, would be deposited on Thursday.

The government released ₹185 crore for 15,475 completed houses. The final instalment would be transferred to the remaining beneficiaries in phases. The ₹5 lakh subsidy for each house is provided in four installments. The last instalment includes Centre’s share.

The final payment for the completed houses was withheld temporarily hoping for the funds from the Centre, he said. Pointing at the delay in receiving funds from Centre for Indiramma Houses in rural Telangana, the Minister expressed regret that despite waiting for a year and multiple requests, the funds from Centre for the houses has not been released so far.

The Housing Minister said that though he requested Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, when he visited the State a few weeks ago, there was no favourable response.

Of the 4.50 lakh Indiramma Houses sanctioned under the first phase, construction of two lakh houses has been completed thus far. The second phase of the housing scheme was launched by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Adilabad on June 2, 2026. The process of selecting beneficiaries would be completed before September 15, said the Minister.
