Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has urged the officials to remain vigilant against forces attempting to create social disparities and widen gaps between communities.

Addressing the Collectors’ Conference on Tuesday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan emphasised the need for collective efforts to maintain peace and public safety across the State.

He stressed that social media posts, banners, and public meetings that could incite communal tensions should be closely monitored, and any forces attempting to disrupt the State’s development or create unrest must be identified early and strict action must be taken.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan highlighted the importance of women’s safety, urging the officials to give it a top priority.

Referring to the Sugali Preethi case, he called for urgent and diligent action to ensure swift justice, and recommended enhanced CCTV surveillance at welfare hostels to prevent unreported crimes.

Referring to noise pollution, Mr. Pawan Kalyan instructed that restrictions should be enforced on sources such as DJ systems and microphones, especially during religious events and cinema functions, while maintaining heightened vigilance at places of worship to prevent acts of vandalism.

He called for a firm stance against the spread of ganja and other drugs, stressing that authorities should monitor colleges and schools to curb sales and dismantle drug supply chains, with the goal of achieving a drug-free Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan emphasised the need to reduce serious crimes, citing recent caste-based issues in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district. He directed the officials to strictly regulate banners and flexi boards that might incite tensions, enforce law and order rigorously, seek cooperation from the community when necessary, and ensure that any incidents threatening public safety are addressed promptly.

He set a target of reducing serious crimes by 33% over the next year.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan called for a proactive and collaborative approach to maintain peace, safeguard women and children, and uphold law and order in Andhra Pradesh.
