Palakkad Congress councillor denied anticipatory bail in rape case

The Special Court for SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act Cases at Mannarkkad on Friday rejected the anticipatory bail application of Congress municipal councillor Prasobh V. Valsan in connection with the alleged rape of a Dalit woman.

Mr. Valsan is accused of sexually exploiting the woman by promising her employment during his tenure as a councillor of the Palakkad municipality.
