A pack of stray dogs attacked a 63-year-old senior citizen in Jayanagar 5th Block on Monday morning.

B.R. Nagaraj, Founder Trustee of an institute working on education research and a former Director at an MNC, was on his morning walk, and while he was behind Shalini Grounds, Jayanagar, he was attacked by a pack of strays.

“It was around 6 a.m. There were over six to seven dogs that suddenly attacked me without any provocation. Two dogs bit my right leg and as a result I fell down and injured my shoulder. I somehow got out of it. I couldn’t drive and took a cab to a hospital and got treated. I have to take multiple anti-rabies injections,” he recounted the incident speaking with The Hindu.

Mr. Nagaraj later filed a complaint with the Jayanagar Police, who registered a non cognizable report. Mr. Nagaraj said that since there were many senior citizens and those inform walking in the area, the civic authorities should take care to ensure such incidents do not recur. In the complaint, he requested them to advise the civic authorities to shift such aggressive dogs to a safer place.
