Over one lakh devotees gather to witness Kancheepuram temple car festival

Over one lakh devotees witnessed the Rathotsavam, the temple car festival of Sri Devarajaswamy Perumal temple, in Kancheepuram on Wednesday (June 3, 2026). The Lord was accompanied by his consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi. The festival was held as part of the Vaikasi Brahmotsavam.

Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments S. Ramesh took part in the pulling of the car, along with Ministers K. Thennarasu and R.V. Ranjithkumar and Kancheepuram District Collector D. Sneha. Pontiff of the Sri Sankara Mutt, Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamigal, had the darshan of the Rathotsavam on the Raja Veethi.
