The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has announced that properties belonging to around 7,000 owners across five corporations will be auctioned on February 17, for failing to clear long-pending property tax dues amounting to over ₹437 crore.

Demand notices were first issued to the defaulters, but the dues remained unpaid. Attachment orders were also served as part of the recovery process. As the owners did not comply even after this step, the GBA has now moved to auction the properties as a last resort, the authority said.

The auctions will be held at the offices of the Joint Commissioners of the five corporations.

The list of properties identified for auction and the related notices have been uploaded on the official website. Property owners have been given a final chance to avoid the auction by immediately clearing their outstanding dues through the online portal.
