Over 500 take part in bicycle rally for road safety

A bicycle rally organised by Young Indians to promote road safety in Hubballi on Sunday attracted several enthusiastic participants.

Students studying in Classes 7 to 10, along with their parents and siblings, joined the rally, reinforcing the importance of responsible road behaviour.

Organisers said that over 500 people participated in the rally that was organised as part of the Road Safety Week.

It commenced at MM Joshi Hospital at Hosur Cross and concluded at BVB College of Engineering.

Guests presented awards in categories like Best Decorated Bicycle, Best Road Safety Slogan and the School with the Highest Student Participation.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Veeresh spoke to students about the importance of traffic rules, safe cycling practices, helmet usage and collective responsibility in ensuring road safety.

Guests Sanjay Kotabagi, Dean, KLE TU, Sameer Mangalwedhe, Deepti Joshi, Ujwal Singhi and Sourabh Dharaneppanavar, Lekha Khona, Niket Singhania, Naveen Jain, Payal Mahajan, Aashish Mahajan, Sonia Singhania, Siddu Kuballi and office-bearers of Hubballi Bicycle Club Shettappa Phirangi and Shivanand Dandavatimath and others were present, according to a release.
