Telangana will be home to the first of its kind beauty-tech global capability centre (GCC) as the State Government’s primary efforts fructify.

L’Oreal has assured to invest in the state for setting up its GCC with beauty tech as niche area in November this year. L’Oreal chief executive officer Nicolas Hieronimus gave the assurance to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led Telanhgana Rising delegation which called on him on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum meeting at Davos.

Proposed on a large scale, the GCC would serve L’Oreal, a world-renowned cosmetics company, as a global innovation, technology, data, and supply chain hub. It would support L’Oréal’s digital transformation, AI, and analytics initiatives worldwide, in turn, boosting Hyderabad’s growing status as a key centre for global enterprise operations. “Tech solutions generated from Hyderabad GCC will be supplied to our facilities all around the world,” Mr. Hieronimus explained.

He invited the Chief Minister and Industries & IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu for inauguration of the new facility. Mr. Sridhar Babu recalled that Mr. Revanth Reddy was very keen to bring L’Oreal’s investment to Hyderabad assuring all possible support from the Government’s side.

He said Hyderabad was the best destination for investments and that the state government was ready to extend full support to the global investors. The state was leading in the GCC space for not just med-tech and health-tech sectors, but also creating new categories like beauty-tech – opening up new opportunities. Several hospitality majors like Marriott were setting up GCCs in Telangana. Mr. Hieronimus was keen on learning about the AI Innovation Hub when the delegation briefed him about the plans.

IT and Industries Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar invited L’Oreal to explore manufacturing in Hyderabad, apart from the GCC investment. “Considering the widespread ecosystem and infrastructural advantages of our state, we would like L’Oreal to consider Telangana in its future manufacturing plans.” Mr. Hieronimus responded positively, showing interest in exploring future investments in a manufacturing unit in Hyderabad.
