The Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) of Osmania University has secured a project from IIT Bombay to develop online and digital Sanskrit lessons under the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) division of the Ministry of Education.

The minor project, valued at around ₹70 lakh, will involve creating 110 hours of Sanskrit lessons, which will be developed into 440 digital lessons using AI and other advanced technologies.

As part of the project, EMRC will travel across the country to record lessons by retired professors of Sanskrit and experts at their homes. The content will later be converted into online courses for students through the IKS Division.

Associate professor at IIT Bombay, Pawan Kumar Hari said EMRC was selected after its infrastructure, technical expertise and capabilities were assessed.
