The Vellore Orthodontic Study Group (VOSG) was inaugurated in Katpadi, Vellore, to provide a common platform for dentists in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, and Tiruvannamalai districts to share dental cases and recent developments in healthcare.

According to a press release, the group was inaugurated by N.R. Krishnaswamy, former vice principal, Ragas Dental College (Chennai), in the presence of Dr. T Samraj, former secretary, Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS). The study group will be led by Chief Convenor Dr. S.V. Soumya, who is also Professor and Head of the Orthodontic Unit, CMC Vellore; Dr. B. Diwakar, Joint Convenor; and Dr. Sarvapalli, Treasurer.

The study group will provide a platform for sharing knowledge on clinical cases, organising health camps, building each other, and creating public awareness through community service. At present, the study group has around 30 dentists, mainly from Vellore. The members of the group will meet every month to discuss reaching out to residents on healthcare, the release said.
