Swachha Andhra Corporation Chairman K. Pattabhi Ram launched “Operation Clean Sweep,” a month-long campaign aimed at transforming cities and towns into garbage-free zones, in Vijayawada on Monday (May 25, 2026). Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana, government whip Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, and A.P. Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Gottimukkala Raghurama Raju were among those present. The initiative is being implemented in all 123 Urban Local Bodies until June 20. During this period, garbage black spots will be removed, roads and public spaces will be cleaned, drains and stormwater drains will be cleared to prevent water stagnation, public toilets will be cleaned, and awareness drives will be held on waste segregation.
