In a bid to strengthen railway connectivity and boost infrastructure-led development in Palnadu and Andhra Pradesh, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Member of Parliament from Narasaraopet and TDP Lok Sabha Floor Leader, met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Monday (May 11, 2026) and submitted a set of major proposals.

During the meeting, the MP sought approval for a new railway corridor connecting Piduguralla–Savalyapuram to Ramayapatnam Port. He said enhanced rail connectivity to the port would significantly support cement, limestone, agriculture, and logistics sectors in Palnadu and Prakasam districts, while improving freight transportation and employment opportunities.

Mr. Sri Krishna Devarayalu also urged the Railway Ministry to provide stoppages for premium trains, including the Secunderabad–Tirupati Vande Bharat Express and the Lingampalli–Vijayawada Express, at Nadikudi or Piduguralla stations to ease travel difficulties faced by students, employees, traders, and daily commuters from the region.

Additionally, he proposed a new Vijayawada–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express service, citing growing passenger movement between Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. The Railway Minister reportedly responded positively and assured that the proposals would be examined.
