Ongole One Town police officials reportedly seized 27 stolen motorcycles worth ₹10 lakh and nearly 1.175 kg of ganja worth ₹12,000 from a man on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as Addeti Edukondalu from Padarthi village of Kothapatnam mandal in Prakasam district. According to the police, he has been involved in ganja peddling and bike thefts to make easy money.

Acting on a tip-off, Inspector Y. Nagaraju was checking vehicles on the way from Ongole Town to Bhagyanagar on Monday. Edukondalu was allegedly caught with ganja and a stolen bike. On the orders of Prakasam district Superintendent of Police (SP) Harshavardhan Raju and under the supervision of Ongole DSP R. Srinivasa Rao, special teams were formed and an in-depth investigation was conducted.

Upon questioning, the accused admitted stealing of 27 bikes in Ongole Taluka, Maddipadu, Addanki, Vinukonda, Guntur Nagarapalem, Narasaraopet Rural, G. Kondur, and Paridi police stations limits. There were also several theft cases registered against him in Ongole Taluka and Guntur police stations in the past.
