One dead, over 500 people affected in suspected food poisoning after temple feast in Mattanur

A suspected case of food poisoning linked to a temple festival feast has left over 500 people ill and claimed one life in Mattanur, prompting urgent intervention by health authorities.

Vijayan, 69, a native of Poovathumkandi in Kara, near Peravur, who had been undergoing treatment at Kannur AKG Hospital, died on Thursday evening. It is the only reported fatality so far.
