Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) announced that a park named “Telugu Vaibhavam”, will be established in Amaravati in memory of former Chief Minister late N.T. Rama Rao. The Chief Minister said that his government will strive towards achieving “Swarnandhra”, a dream inspired by N.T. Rama Rao.

Speaking at the launch of a book “Sajeeva Charitra-1984”, brought about by the NTR Literature Committee, in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said that every policy introduced by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government has stood as a model for the entire country.

He then recalled the political events of the 1980s and the conspiracies orchestrated by the Congress government at the Centre. Speaking about the book, the Chief Minister noted that the year 1983 was a turning point in Indian politics. “When we realised something was amiss, we brought 161 MLAs to the Ramakrishna studio in Musheerabad. It was a game changer,” the Chief Minister recalled, adding that he can never forget the day when the then Governor Ram Lal dismissed the NTR government.

The Congress party’s conspiracies created a nationwide uproar, he said, adding that N.T. Rama Rao united non-Congress parties from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and people stood in unity to protect democracy. Calling N.T. Rama Rao a noble soul who believed that society is a temple and people god, Mr. Naidu said that the former Chief Minister holds a special place in the hearts of Telugu people.

He thanked writers T.D. Janardhan and P. Vikram for bringing about the book. Inspired by N.T. Rama Rao’s vision of welfare, the TDP-led NDA government will lead the State on the path of development, Mr. Naidu said, adding that their chief goal is to make Telugus ‘number one’ in the world.

Tirupura Governor N. Indrasena Reddy, former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and others were present.
