Northeast monsoon: 12 monitoring officers deputed to T.N. districts where heavy rains have been forecast

The Tamil Nadu government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has deputed 12 IAS officers to districts where heavy rains have been forecast by the India Meteorological Department. They would camp in these 12 districts to ensure preparatory measures, in view of the weather prediction.

The monitoring officers for 12 districts are: K.P. Karthikeyan for Tiruvallur, K.S. Kandasamy for Kancheepuram, Kranti Kumar Pati for Chengalpattu, S.A. Raman for Villupuram, D. Mohan for Cuddalore, Kavitha Ramu for Mayiladuthurai, T. Anand for Tiruvarur.

A. Annadurai for Nagapattinam, H. Krishnanunni for Thanjavur, P. Sri Venkata Priya for Kallakurichi, M. Vijayalakshmi for Ariyalur and M. Lakshmi for Perambalur.

In Chennai, the IAS officers who have been named for each of the 15 zones of the Greater Chennai Corporation, have been advised to ensure preparatory measures immediately, an official release said.
