Travel durations range from under 12 hours to over a day, connecting key regions in North and East India, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

New Delhi:

With the festive season of Diwali and Chhath approaching, the Indian Railways is gearing up to handle the surge in passenger demand by launching 17 special festival trains from various Delhi stations on October 20, 2025. These trains will connect Delhi to key cities in Bihar, Jharkhand, and other parts of Eastern India, providing much-needed relief to travellers eager to reach home during the celebrations.

Special trains operating from major Delhi stations

The festival special trains will operate from major stations, including New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Delhi Junction. To accommodate the increased passenger flow, Northern Railway has arranged additional ticket counters, waiting halls, and enhanced security measures at these stations.

Destinations covered by festival specials

These 17 trains will serve important cities such as Patna, Lucknow, Darbhanga, Manasi, Dhanbad, Bhagalpur, Sitamarhi, Howrah, Patliputra, Hasanpur Road, Danapur, Gaya, and Prayagraj. All trains on these routes will be fully reserved to ensure safe and comfortable journeys for festival travellers.
