Non-duty paid liquor worth ₹15.85 lakh seized in Hyderabad and Kamareddy, many held

Excise enforcement personnel seized non-duty paid liquor worth ₹15.85 lakh and arrested many offenders in a series of raids carried out across Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Kamareddy.

In total, 301 liquor bottles were recovered during the operations.

The teams conducted checks on trains arriving from Delhi, leading to the seizure of 73 bottles, which were later handed over to the Secunderabad excise station.

In Secunderabad, a team of District Task Force (DTF) raided room in Sridevi Lodge and recovered 34 bottles. Another 34 bottles were seized from an individual near a known hotel in the same area.

In a separate raid at the SR Nagar bus stand in Ameerpet, 22 bottles were confiscated.

Together, these operations accounted for 110 bottles.

Elsewhere, the Kamareddy excise station team, acting on a tip-off, raided a private residence in their jurisdiction and seized 55 bottles.

Meanwhile, in Almasguda, the State Task Force (STF) – A team recovered 51 bottles of army canteen liquor smuggled from Karnataka.

Four men identified as Mallikarjun Reddy, Singarayya, Subbaiah and Badru were arrested in this connection, and a case has been registered against them.

Further investigation in all the cases is under way.
