Women candidates across parties saw sharply contrasting outcomes in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (DMK) women nominees failed to secure a single win even as rivals — particularly the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) — registered significant gains. 

The DMK’s slate of women candidates failed to secure a single win as several high-profile contests slipped away.
