NITI Aayog extends ₹1.55 crore financial aid to Guntupalli RISE centre: Collector

The NITI Aayog has approved extending a financial assistance of ₹1.55 crore to support programmes being taken up at Rural Incubation, Skilling and Entrepreneurship (RISE) centre at Guntupalli in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, to help women become entrepreneurs, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Mr. Lakshmisha said orders have been issued to this effect. These funds would be utilised for carrying out initiatives within Ibrahimpatnam block, including an AI-based skills survey, skill development and training programmes, and for creation of necessary infrastructure.

Giving details about the centre, which was set up in line with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’, the Collector said there is a help desk, idea desk, skilling desk, placement desk and a banking desk. More than 1,000 women have received training at the centre in various fields, including artificial intelligence, spoken English, crafts, car driving, micro food processing, among others, he added.

Utilising these services, 300 families have already established various business units and successfully emerged as entrepreneurs, Mr. Lakshmisha pointed out.

Collaborations have also been established with organisations such as Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP), the Chamber of Commerce, and Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. Job fairs are organised every month at the centre under the ‘NTR Vikasa’ initiative, the Collector said.

Aspiring entrepreneurs can dial 7075385588 for more information. District Rural Development Agency Project Director A.N.V. Nanchara Rao, Ibrahimpatnam MPDO D. Shakuntala, and others took part in the meeting.
