Newly-developed red gram seeds were distributed to farmers of Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa district, under the Agriculture department’s ‘Polam Pilusthondhi’ programme, which aims to enhance the extension and technological services.

The State government’s flagship programme is meant to provide a platform for farmers and Agricultural officials, facilitating direct interaction between them on issues like agronomical, physiological, soil-related issues, pests and diseases, among others.

Tungabhadra High Level Canal Chairman Mareddy Jogi Reddy, who took part as the chief guest, distributed the red gram seeds to the farmers of Musalreddipalle in Simhadripuram mandal.

“The NDA alliance accords top priority to agricultural development as well as farmers’ welfare,” Mr. Jogi Reddy said, adding that the programme offered pest-resistant and drought-resistant seed varieties to the farmers free of charge.

Agricultural Officer Ramanjulu Reddy, Agricultural Extension Officer Abhilash Reddy and TDP Vempalle in-charge Ajjaguttu Raghunatha Reddy took part.
