The state-of-the-art new Collectorate building will be inaugurated by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Karimnagar by the end of this month, said Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.

The minister inspected the new Collectorate building built adjacent to the existing old Collectorate here on Thursday. Collector Chitra Mishra accompanied him.

Mr. Prabhakar said that the new Collectorate building will serve as a hub of the district administration for efficient delivery of government services in a transparent and citizen-friendly manner.

He said that the Chief Minister will unveil the statue of ‘Telangana Thalli’ during the inaugural ceremony of the new Collectorate and launch various civic works in the city and also development initiatives to improve infrastructure at Satavahana University.

The helipad on the premises of the new Collectorate complex will be operationalised soon, he added.

The government has initiated a slew of concrete steps to develop Karimnagar as a major educational and health hub, he said, adding that the government medical college was upgraded into a teaching hospital.
