The Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) has termed the NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak a shocking failure.

In a statement, FUTA president Harikumaran Thampi and general secretary S. Nazeeb said lakhs of deserving students, including those from poor families, appeared for the NEET examination only after spending large sums of money and time on coaching and preparation. The reality that the examination question paper is being sold has caused despair in their lives. Such irregularities not only deprive students of fair opportunities, but also rob them of justice.

The organisation also faulted the National Testing Agency for failing to ensure the vigilance and security required in the examination system. The agency should not be allowed to continue organising the test, the organisation said.

Under such circumstances, the Central government must adopt urgent steps to undertake a comprehensive, transparent and time-bound investigation and ensure stringent punishment for those responsible for the fiasco, FUTA stated.
