Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao said here on Friday that around 1,200 applications have been received for conversion of B-Khata properties into A-Khata within days of the government launching a 100-day regularisation drive.

The conversion campaign, which officially began on November 1, was announced by the Karnataka government on October 15 with the aim of regularising property records, easing property tax collection, and making property transactions more transparent and legally compliant.

According to data from the GBA, Bengaluru North Corporation received the highest number of applications at 334, followed by West Corporation with 327, Bengaluru East at 256, Bengaluru South at 248, and Bengaluru Central received the least, with four applications.

The applications are now being scrutinised by the respective city corporations under the GBA, Mr. Rao said.

Over 7.96 lakh applications for e-Khata

The GBA Chief said that apart from the B-to-A Khata campaign, the GBA has also made significant progress in digitising property documentation through the e-Khata system, which allows citizens to apply and receive digitally verified property records online. As of November 5, more than 7.96 lakh e-Khata applications had been received across all corporations, of which 7.83 lakh have already been approved.

“Property regularisation and digital verification are central to improving revenue efficiency and bringing transparency to civic administration,” he said.

The West Corporation, in the limits of the GBA, received the highest e-Khata applications with more than 2.52 lakh applications followed by the North Corporation with over 1.78 lakh applications, while the Central Corporation received the lowest with 67,754 applications.
