The Indian Navy band of the Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, set the tone for its upcoming public concert at Sarath City Mall, Kondapur, on Monday with a symphonic performance in Bolarum on Sunday. The Naval Symphonic Band concert, titled Sargam 2025, was held at Navy House, Bolarum, with Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma as the chief guest. The event was hosted by Rear Admiral Ashwani Kumar Tikkoo, director of DMDE Secunderabad.

The ensemble also included two women Agniveers and opened with a golden jubilee presentation featuring the ABBA Gold medley, which drew on popular numbers such as Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen. This was followed by Vande Mataram, Sujalam Sufalam from the film Fighter, Michael Jackson’s Heal the World, and a selection of older classics from films starring Amitabh Bachchan. The band later shifted to hits from 2000s Bollywood.

The evening drew to a close with a medley of tri-services songs and the rendition of Saare Jahan Se Accha.
