Naruvi Hospitals, Auxilium College organises camp in Vellore to detect low haemoglobin

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Auxilium College and Naruvi Hospitals organised a medical camp at the college campus in Vellore to detect prevalence of anaemia especially among young women.

According to a press release, Vellore Collector V.R. Subbulaxmi and G.V. Sampath, Chairman, Naruvi Hospitals, jointly inaugurated the mass screening camp. Haemoglobin levels of participants was screened by a team of doctors from Naruvi Hospitals. Around 3,500 persons attended the camp.

It is estimated that about 50 per cent of young women in the age group between 15 and 24 suffered from anaemia due to low levels of haemoglobin, resulting in their overall health and well-being, also adversely impacting their education, the release said.
