Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday unveiled the poster of the South India Rocketry Challenge–2026, aimed at nurturing rocket-making skills among school and college students. The competition is being organised for the first time under the aegis of the Science City of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati, with the finals scheduled from January 22 to 24 at Vignan University in Guntur.

The initiative seeks to promote innovation, scientific thinking and hands-on learning, while providing a platform for students to showcase creativity and technical skills in aerospace-related fields. Interested participants can register through the Andhra Pradesh Science City website.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that the challenge will include Chemical Rocketry competitions at the college level and Hydro Rocketry competitions at the school level. Participants aged 16 years and above are eligible for the Chemical Rocketry category, while children aged 6 to 12 years can take part in the Hydro Rocketry segment.

The poster was released at the Secretariat in the presence of BC Welfare Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu.
