Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) will organise a free women’s oncology clinic along with a free HPV vaccination drive at its Day Care Clinic at Kuvempunagar on Wednesday (July 15).

The programme will provide free specialist consultations, cancer risk assessment, screening guidance and counselling for women. Those experiencing suspicious symptoms, having a family history of cancer, or seeking expert advice on breast, cervical and ovarian cancers can avail themselves of the facility. Oncology specialists will also provide treatment guidance and refer patients for further diagnostic investigations wherever required, according to a press release.

Highlighting the importance of preventive care, Chaitra Katakol, senior radiation oncologist at BHIO, said, “Early diagnosis significantly improves cancer outcomes, while HPV vaccination is a proven preventive measure against cervical cancer. Many women delay seeking medical attention due to fear or lack of awareness. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage women to undergo timely screening, understand their risk factors and take advantage of preventive healthcare.”

The clinic and vaccination drive will be held at the BHIO Day Care Clinic, Kuvempunagar, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Women are requested to register in advance and carry previous medical records, if available. For registration and details, contact 9012112190 or 0821-2300600/2300606, the release added.
