Due to a landslide at Patan village near Lohgad Fort and continuous heavy rainfall, traffic movement on both the Pune–Mumbai Expressway and the old Mumbai–Pune Highway has been severely affected on Monday (July 6, 2026).

A family is reported to have been caught up within the impact area of the landslide, and rescue operations have been initiated.

The traffic police have issued a public appeal, requesting that citizens refrain from undertaking any journeys between Pune and Mumbai until further notice. “Those planning to travel are advised to postpone their journeys and follow the traffic advisories and updates issued by government agencies.”

“We request your cooperation in the interest of public safety,” the traffic advisory said. “There have also been flood-like situations in certain parts and on the roads in the Maval and Tamini Ghat areas, which include the alternate routes to reach Mumbai from Pune.” the advisory added.

Accordingly, the following routes have been closed until further instruction:

1. Pune Mumbai Expressway – between connecting link and missing link due to falling of a concrete pillar.

2. Old Pune Mumbai Highway due to over flowing water at certain points.
