Most rank holders are girls

Like many years earlier, most of the rank holders are girls this year too, at the fifth annual convocation of Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University to be held on Saturday.

Out of total 71 rank holders, 57 are girls. Of the rank holders, 42 students are from postgraduate courses and 29 from undergraduate courses.

Among the rank holders, 49 students will receive 64 gold medals and cash prizes, out of which 46 gold medals are instituted by Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University and 18 gold medals by different donors.

A total of 37,393 students are eligible to receive their degree at the convocation. Out of them, 21,912 (58.63%) are female and 15,458 (47.31%) are male students. Also, 23 PhD scholars will receive degree certificates.

Binay Kumar Das, Director General, Defence Research and Development Organisation, will be the chief guest on the occasion and deliver the convocation address.
