A batch of Twenty20 leaders disgruntled over the party’s decision to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) quit the party and joined the Congress on Friday.

Addressing the media, the leaders accused Twenty20 president Sabu M. Jacob of deceiving party workers and leaders with false promises.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee vice president V.P. Sajeeendran welcomed those who came from Twenty20 to Congress by draping them with shawls. Among the leaders from Kunnathumadu who joined Congress was area secretary M.A. Thahir.

Earlier this month, Twenty20’s former Vadavucode block panchayat president Raseena Pareeth and her supporters had joined the Congress.
