Information Technolgy & Human Resource Development Minister (IT & HRD) Nara Lokesh has called on Canada Business Council (CBC) president Goldy Hyder in Toronto on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) night.

He sought cooperation in mobilising industrial investments to Andhra Pradesh, saying that the State was surging forward with its speed of doing business policy.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh made significant progress in the last one-and-a-half years and was poised to reach new heights in the coming years, he said, calling upon investors to explore opportunities in the State.

Later, Mr. Lokesh had a meeting with Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited CEO Prem Watsa, whom he requested to set up Sterling Resorts in the Nallamala forest region on the lines of Panama City in Florida.

In a meeting with Tim Downing, a member of the Global Public Affairs Team at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), Mr. Lokesh suggested that the CPPIB invest in the renewable energy, sea ports and logistics sectors.

Also, Mr. Lokesh requested Mr. Downing to consider becoming a partner in the development of Amaravati as an institutional investor.

Mr. Lokesh went on to meet John Radko, Senior Vice – President of OpenText, a world-renowned name in Enterprise Information Management and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

He asked Mr. Radko to lend expertise in developing AI and quantum computing ecosystems.

Mr. Radko said the company intended to expand its operations to Tier-II cities in India and he would look to tap the opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.

The Minister then paid a courtesy visit to the Consul General of India in Toronto, Kapidhwaja Pratap Singh and Canada-India Business Council president Victor Thomas.
