Accident prone areas identified in Vizianagaram, its outskirts: Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar

Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police A. R. Damodar on Monday (March 23) urged all the vehicle drivers to wear helmets and seat belts to protect themselves during accidents. He said that the department had taken several steps to prevent road accidents at nearly 20 accident prone areas identified recently. Mr. Damodar visited several areas of the city and outskirts and gathered feedback from the people with regard to road safety, steps to be taken by the Police department to prevent road accidents.

According to him, speed breakers, blinkers, stoppers, radium stickers are being used at several junctions including Aainda, Modavalasa, Chelluru bypass road, 5th battalion gate and other places. The department is planning to take the suggestions from engineering experts to prevent accidents at identified black spots. The reasons for the accidents at those black spots are being analysed to take corrective measures.
