Sale of meat and meat products has been banned in Kurnool on January 26 (Monday) in view of Republic Day celebrations.

Kurnool Municipal Corporation Commissioner P. Viswanatha said officials have been instructed to take action against hotels, restaurants and shops found selling meat on that day.

Meanwhile, the weekly Public Grievance Redressal System(PGRS) meeting, which is usually held every Monday at the office of the Superintendent of Police, will not be conducted on January 26.

Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil said the PGRS has been cancelled due to Republic Day celebrations and urged the public not to visit the SP office in Kurnool city to submit petitions on that day.
