The 131st Maramon Convention, the annual Christian gathering organised by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association (MTEA) under the Mar Thoma Church, concluded at Maramon near Kozhencherry here on Sunday.

Theodosius Mar Thoma, Metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, delivered the concluding message. In his address, the metropolitan called for a firm stand against substance abuse, acts of aggression, and other social evils that disrupt harmony across social, caste and religious spheres. “We must draw strength from Christ to confront these challenges. It is equally important to exercise the freedom we have been granted with wisdom and discernment,” he said.

He also praised the act of organ donation by the family of a ten-month-old baby. The metropolitan noted the selfless act by the parents in donating the baby’s vital organs to other patients across the State.
