A 60-year-old man was killed and his 55-year-old brother was injured after a car allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy went out of control and rammed into their scooter and several parked vehicles in Karmika Nagar under the Madhura Nagar police station limits on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rajkumar, while his younger brother Prabhakar sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment. Both are residents of Karmika Nagar and were on their way to church on a scooter when the accident occurred.

According to the police, the white Maruti Baleno (TS 09 FK 4804) was allegedly being driven by the minor, an Intermediate student from Borabanda. The car had reportedly been rented earlier on Sunday morning by Fawad, 19. Fawad and two other Intermediate students, including the accused, had planned a joyride to Ananthagiri Hills.

Police said the group first drove to Karmika Nagar, where they washed the vehicle. After Fawad went out for an errand on a motorcycle leaving the keys in the car, the minor boy tried to drive it. The vehicle alleged sped out of control, crashing into seven parked motorcycles before crossing to the opposite side of the road and ran over the victims.

The Madhura Nagar police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The Baleno is registered in the name of Shaik Azmatullah and has pending traffic challans worth ₹3,240 dating back to September 2025.
