In one of the biggest drug hauls in Ernakulam rural district this year, a man was arrested with 62 kg of suspected ganja on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).
The arrested is Hanif, 38, of Uliyathadukka, Kasaragod. The Ernakulam Rural District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force along with the Angamaly police made the seizure. The suspected ganja was being allegedly smuggled in from Odisha in a car.
The operation was based on a secret tip received by District Police Chief (Ernakulam Rural) K.S. Sudarshan. The suspected ganja was being smuggled in from Odisha to Kottayam.
