A man was brutally hacked to death by unidentified assailants near a liquor shop at Gubbi Colony in Kalaburagi city late on Sunday (July 26) night.

The deceased has been identified as Ravichandra Thippayya Guttedar, 47, a resident of Adarsh Nagar in the city.

According to reports, three unidentified persons attacked Guttedar with sharp weapons and fled the spot after killing him.

The police suspect that the murder could be linked to a past rivalry, as a murder case had previously been registered against Guttedar. The attack is believed to have been carried out due to disputes related to that case.

Police officials have visited the crime scene and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the M.B. Nagar Police Station.
