The State executive committee of the Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) urged the State government to organise Panchayat Raj teachers into local cadres in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Public Employment Order, 2025.

The federation’s State president Chennupati Manjula said that while officials were encouraging enrolment in government schools, publicity surrounding the “Thalliki Vandanam” scheme was adversely affecting admissions. She demanded that the benefit be extended exclusively to government school students.

APTF State general secretary K. Basava Linga Rao said nearly 98% of teachers working in Zilla Parishad schools should be brought under district-level local cadres, while High School headmasters should be placed in zonal cadres. He urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to intervene and facilitate promotions based on common seniority.

The federation also demanded appointment of the 12th PRC Chairman, 30% interim relief, release of four pending DAs, payment of PRC and DA arrears, abolition of Contributory Pension Scheme, implementation of transfers and promotions, filling up of vacancies in Plus-2 schools, MEO promotions based on common seniority and exemption for senior teachers from TET.

The executive committee resolved to launch large-scale agitations if the government failed to address these and other pending issues related to teachers and the education sector.
